Tyndale S2 Senior Hub
The Senior Student Hub, known as the S2 Hub, at Tyndale Christian School’s Salisbury East Campus saw the repurposing of previously underutilised and poorly finished space, into a new, vibrant, and engaging facility for the school’s senior cohort. Incorporating a range of spaces, from quiet withdrawal and study spaces, to huddle tables supported with technology to larger spaces for whole class groups there is a space for everybody. Supporting the function of this space are several offices for teaching staff, and a student “concierge”, to assist the senior students navigate their way through their final years at school.
Challenged with low ceiling heights, the space works to create zoning, and identify function, through colour and form. The colour palette is designed to be engaging and familiar, whilst at the same time relaxing and calm, as does the selection of seating and engagement furniture.
The S2 hub includes a senior student café facility, where the students can make refreshments and lunches, but also provides for a servery function where enterprise students can make and serve the same to their colleagues.
At the other end of the floor sits a new, Senior Staffroom, which replaces the original one with a more contemporary, digitally serviced, and zoned space for resting, collaboration and engagement.
The S2 Hub has truly revolutionised the way Tyndale Christian School’s senior students engage with their learning environment, and has truly become a hub for the school.
