Noarlunga Ambulance Station

The Noarlunga Ambulance Station, located in such a manner as to minimise response times onto the road and through the traffic lights, is an important part of South Australia’s Emergency Services. Containing both a large garage and staging area for vehicles of varying types, along with important ancillary spaces for training and crew rest, the building provides an outwardly strong civic presence, with a calming internal courtyard space for rest and relaxation for those in this highly stressful profession.

Prefinished materials such as precast concrete with integral colour, high grade steel cladding and insulated panel roofing as chosen to minimise recurrent maintenance costs in the marine environment, while at the same time providing a high level of finish. The facility also features a number of passive and active ESD features, important for a building that is operational every hour and every day of the year.
