Natural ventilation stack system at Lochiel Park Apartments

By Jon Lowe Sep 8th 2010 9:00am

The 23 Apartments and Townhouses at the Lochiel Park Green Village (currently 60% of the way thru the construction program) have many green features to boast. One of the most innovative is the natural ventilation stack system:

ventilation diagram

Each apartment has access to an individual ventilation shaft with a wind-powered rotary ventilator, controlled by a motorised louvre panel in the hallway linked to the AC system, and combined with operable windows in the living and bedroom spaces a naturally cooling cross ventilation effect will be created.

Here's some construction photos too:

The first of the feature solar-panel clad roof trusses was installed last week.

Feature pattern brickwork Under Construction

By Jon Lowe Sep 21st 2010 10:00am

Currently Under Construction and due for completion later this year, the new Special Education Centre at Tyndale Christian School has three contrasting brickwork patterns indentifing the three main volumes of the centre.

GLC 01

The Junior school area (The Good Learning Centre) has large diagonal stripes with random tilt-shifts or breaks, as if the building has been shook or jilted, akin to a lighting strike.

GLC 02

The pattern wraps around each volume (entry under the canopy on the left).

GLC 03

Elevation showing brick by brick pattern.

GLC 03

The mid-section of the facility houses spaces for specialists in speech, physiotherapy and counselling as well as a life skills centre, and is identified by a 'space invaders' type pattern.

mid section 02mid section 03

The brickies counted brick by brick off the elevations, matching the CAD hatching exactly.

the Zone

The middle school (or The Zone) pattern is reminiscent of silted layers of earth, or perhaps a contour map.

By Jon Lowe Aug 1st 2013 9:00am

Construction is proceeding well at the GP Plus Port Pirie site, with the feature 'rusty corten' steel panels recently raised into position by Mossop Construction and Interiors

Another creative feature of the project will be the public art produced by the local indigeneous commuity in collaboration with Artist Matthew Stuckey, which will soon be incorporated into the building fabric. The illustrations will be laser-cut into a pic-perf metal sheet and fixed to the main entry ramp balustrade. You can see more of Matthew's work at http://befriendly.net/ and further project details can be viewed on our website

By Simon Nov 20th 2015 2:00am

Ground was formally broken at the site of the new Henley Beach Police Station today, with the Hon. Tony Piccolo, Minister for Police, the Hon. Due for completion in mid 2016, the project is the culmination of a great deal of work between Greenway Architects and our project team, South Australia Police and the Dept. of Planning, Transport and Infrastucture to improve the facilities and environments for the Police and the public in their interactions. Click back over the next few months to review progress of the works.
