Team Support

By Simon Frost Jul 2nd 2018 5:00pm

Are you looking to get your foot in the door of a design studio?

We are looking for a person to join our team of Architects and Interior Designers to provide primarily a support role to the office in the form of administrative assistance, but with the opportunity to possibly use their design and graphic skills in the support of the office's outputs.

You're likely an Architectural Graduate, Interior Designer or Graphic Designer (but not a student unfortunately) who's currently working in hospitality, retail or otherwise not using your skills to their utmost.

The position will be an approximate 12-month contract (covering for a staff member on maternity leave) and will be a part time position. Days and hours of work will be discussed should you be successful in your application, but will be approximately 20 hours per week, over a 5-day working week. The position will be required from 23rd July 2018, with some handover training required beforehand.

This will be a multi-faceted role that consists of a combination of general reception duties, output support and office administration duties. Reporting to the two Directors, you will support our team in ensuring our office operates in the best possible way at all times and will provide outstanding first impressions through your high-quality telephone service, a professional welcome to all visitors and efficient management of all incoming and outgoing correspondence. Key aspects of the role include:

-  Ensuring outstanding first impressions to clients and team members.

-   Providing general administrative support to our team.

-   Assisting in the preparation of proposals, capability statements and other marketing collateral.

With the scope to work both within a busy team environment, as well as autonomously, an elastic, energetic and proactive approach is a must. Your ability to work flexibly and think on your feet will serve you well, as will your friendly, outgoing and positive attitude. We are looking for individuals who have:

-  An energetic and flexible approach - making them a real "all-rounder".

-  The ability to make an outstanding first impression.

-  Intermediate level Microsoft Word and Excel skills and knowledge of the wider MS Office environment.

-  Skills in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop and Revit are also very valuable.

-  Proven prioritisation and organisational skills; including the ability to manage multiple, sometimes conflicting deadlines without getting flustered is a must.

-  Demonstrable attention to detail.

-  Exceptional verbal communication skills.

-  A desire for part time contract work.

-  Experience in a professional services environment is advantageous, but not a must.

Please email a single PDF document of no more than 4 pages, outlining your skills, availability and why you think you're the right person for the job to by no later than 11th July 2018 with reference to "Team Support" in the subject bar.

We're looking forward to hearing from you!

Jamie Larcombe Centre

By Pete Tynan Dec 14th 2017 10:00am

The Jamie Larcombe Centre has officially opened - see news article here.

Glenside Health Service Campus provides an opportunity to develop a purpose-built, multi-use facility to be a Centre for Excellence for treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. The site is low-stimulus and private, with access to recreational, community and garden spaces. The site is primarily dedicated to Veterans mental health with a new facility to provide distinct care for Veterans of all ages and for first responders.
The new facility attaches to a previous Intermediate Care Centre with some of that facility altered to suit the new function. The simple skillion roof form of the building continues the same design language as the existing building and allows for maximum natural light and ventilation. A large focus has been made to de-institutionalize the facility, to provide a warm, welcoming and secure and safe atmosphere with views and access to a variety of beautifully landscaped courtyards.

We're hiring

We're seeking a talented, driven and engaging Project Architect to join our practice. You'll be experienced, preferably registered (or ready to be registered) and able to stand on your own and capably deliver small to medium sized projects, and as a team member on our bigger projects. Being comfortable with clients, contractors and consultants, the role will suit those who are confident in their abilities, with recent, relevant experience to back it up. You'll be as comfortable giving a presentation to a group, as you will be having coffee with a future client, with verbal, written and drawn skills all part of your arsenal. You'll be pushed and supported to bring out your best, but at the same time, expected to work with minimal guidance to manage your own time, outputs and outcomes. We'll give the support and flexibility to achieve this.
Our clients vary wildly, as do our projects. We need a team member who'll work collaboratively, across our office and our client groups, to take projects from concept to completion, with the ability to work within any part of a project's journey. Revit is preferable, but we're an AutoCAD/Adobe office too. With a portfolio reflecting projects from $100,000 to $50,000,000, in all sectors of the market, the Greenway Architects team is agile, adaptable, flexible and hard working. We support, encourage and even expect growth, both professionally and personally. We offer the opportunity for our team to seek and achieve this growth in every project. You'll be rewarded commensurate with your skills, abilities and value to us and our clients.
We're looking for someone who's ready to take the next step on their professional path. Someone who's driven to create excellent spaces, environments and relationships. Someone who fits in with our office and culture, our clients and our consultants. Someone who likes a challenge, can clearly articulate their position, isn't afraid of hard work and seeks a rewarding experience by doing so.
If this is you, please send us something that outlines who you are, what you believe in, what you've done and who you've done it for. Email us at
