Jamie Larcombe Centre

By Pete Tynan Dec 14th 2017 10:00am

The Jamie Larcombe Centre has officially opened - see news article here.

Glenside Health Service Campus provides an opportunity to develop a purpose-built, multi-use facility to be a Centre for Excellence for treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. The site is low-stimulus and private, with access to recreational, community and garden spaces. The site is primarily dedicated to Veterans mental health with a new facility to provide distinct care for Veterans of all ages and for first responders.
The new facility attaches to a previous Intermediate Care Centre with some of that facility altered to suit the new function. The simple skillion roof form of the building continues the same design language as the existing building and allows for maximum natural light and ventilation. A large focus has been made to de-institutionalize the facility, to provide a warm, welcoming and secure and safe atmosphere with views and access to a variety of beautifully landscaped courtyards.

We're hiring

By Simon Frost Sep 5th 2017 8:30am

We're seeking a talented, driven and engaging Project Architect to join our practice. You'll be experienced, preferably registered (or ready to be registered) and able to stand on your own and capably deliver small to medium sized projects, and as a team member on our bigger projects. Being comfortable with clients, contractors and consultants, the role will suit those who are confident in their abilities, with recent, relevant experience to back it up. You'll be as comfortable giving a presentation to a group, as you will be having coffee with a future client, with verbal, written and drawn skills all part of your arsenal. You'll be pushed and supported to bring out your best, but at the same time, expected to work with minimal guidance to manage your own time, outputs and outcomes. We'll give the support and flexibility to achieve this.
Our clients vary wildly, as do our projects. We need a team member who'll work collaboratively, across our office and our client groups, to take projects from concept to completion, with the ability to work within any part of a project's journey. Revit is preferable, but we're an AutoCAD/Adobe office too. With a portfolio reflecting projects from $100,000 to $50,000,000, in all sectors of the market, the Greenway Architects team is agile, adaptable, flexible and hard working. We support, encourage and even expect growth, both professionally and personally. We offer the opportunity for our team to seek and achieve this growth in every project. You'll be rewarded commensurate with your skills, abilities and value to us and our clients.
We're looking for someone who's ready to take the next step on their professional path. Someone who's driven to create excellent spaces, environments and relationships. Someone who fits in with our office and culture, our clients and our consultants. Someone who likes a challenge, can clearly articulate their position, isn't afraid of hard work and seeks a rewarding experience by doing so.
If this is you, please send us something that outlines who you are, what you believe in, what you've done and who you've done it for. Email us at adelaide@greenwayarchitects.com.au

Glenunga Hub Official Opening

By Eloise Penna Feb 8th 2016 5:00pm

Glenunga Community Hub was officially opened on Saturday afternoon, with the Mayor of Burnside, David Parkin unveiling a commemorative plaque and welcoming the community to the redeveloped precinct. The redevelopment comprised of a new pavilion, situated in the middle of Glenunga Reserve, with a new state-of the-art playground along with new playing fields, little athletics facilities and a fitness track with exercise equipment. The City of Burnside have praised the success of the project and said the precinct will 'redefine the standard of multi-purpose leisure facilities' available for use by the community. Take a look at the completed project photos on our website.

It’s not just swings and roundabouts!

Jan 28th 2016 12:00am

It's always great when we get excellent feedback from users of our spaces, however it's even better when those spaces have such an impact on younger users. As part of the larger Glenunga Community Hub project, Greenway worked with Oxigen Landscape Architects to create an activity based play space for younger users of the precinct. Rather than just being swings and slides under a shade sail, great effort went in to creating an active space with water play, elevational changes, different ground surfaces and other components to promote a more creative way of interacting with the space, other kids and the environment, all shaded with the large trees nearby. We were pleased to see the playground get a rave review on the "Kids in Adelaide" website, which you can read here.
